In case you wonder what I've been up to....

I'm practicing 2nd position for this piece in my cello class. Tonight is the last class before the holidays, so we're having a party. The boys are with friends and Matt's coming to class with me for our first "recital". Wish me luck!

Let me win. But if I cannot win let me be brave in the attempt.

That is the athlete's oath for the Special Olympics. Sarah is an absolute sweetheart, so it was no surprise to us when we learned that she is participating in the Jolly Jaunt 5K Run/Walk to support local Special Olympics athletes. Please click here to join us in supporting Sarah and her local athletes!

Thank you for making a difference, Sarah!!!!!

Midnight Snack

Was it yummy smells of mom's cooking in the kitchen, or was it the sound of dad rummaging for ice cream ? Either way he's pretty good company.

Fun Engagement Session: Kim & Jeff

I can't wait to photograph Kim and Jeff's wedding next spring!

They are a blast to hang out with - we started out at the park, but the park setting was a little sedate for them, so we found a playground.

Here they are lounging on the rope jungle gym at the end of our shoot.

Thanks for choosing me for your wedding guys, I can't wait to be part of your special day... and to sample your wedding cake too!

A Wedding at Hotel Marlowe

Jen and Gabe are so much fun to photograph! Pictures were important to them, so they allowed for a ton of time for us to photograph them at different locations between the church in Newton and the hotel in Cambridge. Here they are on the hillside at Larz Anderson Park:

We love photographing at the Hotel Marlowe because they have such posh decor - all the unique colors, textures, and geometric patterns make great backdrops for creative and dramatic portraits.

For example..... (drum roll)

Isn't Jen fabulous????? During the cocktail hour they had a traditional tea ceremony, during which they offered tea and sweets to all of their relatives (mostly on Gabe's side), and when we saw Jennifer's dress, we had to make one more trip down to the red bar:

Thank you Jennifer and Gabe for inviting us to photograph your day!

One More Pic of Christina - Beautiful!

I can't believe we forgot to include this shot in the previous post:

Christina & John: A Connecticut Wedding

Christina and John have been so patient with us! Our move - totally unplanned, but into a totally awesome house, and a great improvement for us - threw a huge wrench into our fall post-production editing schedule. We're now wrapping up the last couple of weddings, and we're so excited to finally share Christina and John's pictures.

Christina's dress is one of my favorites from this year - the lace drapes her body gorgeously, and the neutral silk lining is a super fun and pretty change to the usual "all white" dress. Love it! Of course her big gorgeous smile made our jobs pretty easy...

Larry came along to shoot this wedding with Matt, and in addition to being a lot of fun to hang out with, he is a great photographer! We couldn't help but notice - and this really comes through in candid shots - that people TOTALLY love him. It's like when people look into his lens they just have to smile! Seriously, Larry has a magic lens. Of course we already knew people love Larry, but it was great fun to see his personality at work behind the camera.

Congratulations Christina and John, and thank you for inviting us to be part of your special day!

Please bear with us as we update our blog! We're creating our boutique, which is hosted at the same spot as our blog images, so we need to repair the site index in order to show off all of our blog pictures!

Edit: yay, it's all fixed now!

We cannot wait to share our new boutique with you! Be sure to check back soon and you'll see a link to it on the right-hand side of our blog.

A Topsfield Commons Wedding

Sarah and Dan's wedding day was so much fun. Sarah was beautiful, and the setting was perfect for really fun pictures. The timing of the ceremony with the setting sun couldn't have been better: we had a few minutes after the ceremony to make portraits of Sarah and Dan and shortly after that we all went inside just as the sun went down and the party began. Thank you Sarah and Dan! We had so much fun getting to know you and we can't wait to design your album!

Favorite Spot in the Sun

Jackson has discovered that if he sleeps on the patio table he can sun himself and have a clear view into our kitchen.

Baptism Photos

I usually don't get called to photograph baptisms, so I was really excited to document Baby Jackson and Baby Campbell's christening. The twins were just adorable (Jackson wore his great-grandfather's christening gown, Campbell wore her mommy's gown), and their families were delightful to meet and photograph. Thank you Sheri for inviting me to be part of your special day!

WFNX Halloween Prom Party

Walk Like An Egyptian and 1987 were the themes of this year's prom. WFNX always throws a great party and had a huge turnout this year. I posted 646 photos from the "photo booth" on Pictage. I was pretty busy that night and appreciated those beers that kept coming my way:) Thank you to all who brought them to me. I hope to see you all again next year.

Cheers,
Matt

Latest Trends in Bridal Fashion - 2008 Bridal Market Runway Show

La Bella Bride Magazine invited me to go to NYC with them to photograph the new collections of bridal gowns. I had such a great time hanging out with Katina, Steve, and Robin from LaBella. I also met Ray Santana who was there shooting for Grace Ormonde. If you go to his blog you'll see a photo I took with his camera of all the photographers piled in together at the end of the runway. This was my first time shooting a runway show and I had a blast and look forward to doing more. I loved the comradery of the photographers: if someone dropped a lens (not me) or had a battery die (not me) somebody would immediately hand them one to borrow and no one ever missed a shot. It was also funny to hear how the photographers will talk to the models when they reach the end of the runway. Be sure to pick up the new issue of La Bella, which will be on the racks very soon, to check out not only more runway fashion, but also two Grazier Photography weddings that are being featured.

After the shows we all went out for dinner and drinks with Traci Ramono. Steve made sure we stayed close to a tv so we could watch the Sox win. Some of us ended up pulling a classic NY night: we were last to leave the bar and didn't fall asleep till about 4am. Gotta love the city that doesn't sleep!

~Matt

These newest dresses incorporate interesting textures (papery crumpled silk, cutout lace, pearls and other unique beading), romantic draping and billowing, and vintage lines. We absolutely LOVE these latest looks, as they emphasize the shape of the body, and are constructed to move - making for really beautiful pictures.... we can't wait to see some of these styles on next year's brides!

Here is a small sample of some of our favorites:

A Wentworth Wedding: Erin & Matt

Erin and Matt had a beautiful wedding at the Wentworth Hotel. Erin's classical beauty was just a joy to photograph! Their family and friends were super nice - and the whole day was lovely and heartfelt. We loved that they included their dogs in the day. View all of their wedding photographs here.
